Sears and Community Action Team up to Promote Healthy Eating

Staff members at Sears (Salmon Run Mall) encouraged customers to support Community Action’s Seeds & Needs campaign during the retailer’s Friends & Family night on March 23.  They collected assorted gardening supplies and $189 in cash to support Seeds & Needs, an initiative designed to promote and encourage healthy eating habits.  Throughout the spring, Community Action Planning Council will continue to collect seeds and gardening supplies which will be made available to low-income families.  On May 28, families will be invited to attend a special Grow with Community Action event, where they will be provided with gardening instruction and supplies to start their own gardens.  Many thanks to our friends at Sears and in the community for helping to get Seeds & Needs off to a great start!
