Child Care Assistance Program
The New York State Office of Children and Family Services’ Child Care Assistance Program provides eligible families across New York State with financial assistance for child care. If eligible, you can have some or all of your child care costs paid for through the Child Care Assistance Program. You are free to choose a provider that meets your needs as long as they are licensed, registered, or enrolled as a legally exempt provider.
Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood
Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) is a DoD and U.S. Coast Guard fee assistance program for eligible families who cannot access military-operated child care due to distance or waitlists. With fee assistance, a portion of your child care costs is paid to offset the costs of community-based care. This makes it easier for military families to afford quality child care from local community providers.

Some employers may have reserved spots with local child care programs, offer rate discounts for employees, or help cover the cost of care. Make sure you know all of the resources that are in place.
