Earlier this month, Community Action launched the Summer Activities Program for kids. So far, we’re having a blast – laughing, learning and enjoying summer meals together. The program runs each weekday through August 22, 11 AM to 3 PM. The Summer Activities Program is open to school-aged children with completed permission form, signed by parent/guardian. Younger children are welcome, provided they are accompanied by a parent. Lunch is served at noon with an afternoon snack at 2:30 PM.
Today, Karen Soule of Cornell Cooperative Extension dropped by with JR, an Australian shepherd. We learned that dogs have a much different sense of smell than people, and we made a new friend.
There will be many more learning activities throughout the summer. On August 5, TG Kolb from the Watertown City Fire Department will be here with a smoke house and a lesson in fire safety.
It’s all here … games, activities, crafts, and lunch! Come join the fun. Call 315.782.4900, ext. 271 for more information.
