According the weather forecast, the temperature is about to drop … and snowflakes will soon be in the air. Time to get prepared for winter! Our Head Start families are doing just that, thanks to the Coats for Kids program. Our friends at Watertown Elks Lodge 496 and Stewart’s Shops helped to purchase 427 coats – the largest Coats for Kids program to date. K-Mart offered discounted pricing on the coats and coordinated getting the right sizes in stock.
Representatives from the Elks Lodge and Stewart’s Shops stopped by Community Action for a celebration and helped hand out coats. Our little people greeted them with homemade thank you cards, beautifully crafted centerpieces and big smiles! Many thanks to our generous sponsors for their support of Coats for Kids!
