The Community Action Planning Council is hosting a special gardening event on May 14, 2012, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the CAPC Warehouse, located at 588 Morrison Street, Watertown. Families will have the opportunity to start their own garden-in-a-bucket and learn useful gardening tips from the master gardener at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County. Seeds and live tomato and pepper plants are available for families to take home. Anyone planning to attend should phone 315.782.4900, ext. 271.
All gardening supplies for the Come GROW with Community Action event were donated by local individuals and businesses as part of the Seeds & Needs campaign that ran through April. This initiative is a Community Action Angels project. Community Action Angels is an innovative volunteer and community partnership program dedicated to helping Community Action Agencies expand their capacity to serve the local community.
