Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell and Kinney Drugs teamed up for the sixth consecutive year to promote literacy and to ensure that children enjoy the gift of reading this holiday season. New and gently used children’s books were collected at drop boxes located at Kinney Drug stores throughout Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties and in Assemblywoman Russell’s Canton and Watertown offices. Books collected in St. Lawrence County were delivered to St. Lawrence County Community Development Program. Books collected in Jefferson County made their way to Community Action Planning Council where they will be sorted and shared with partner agencies Salvation Army, Watertown Urban Mission and the Rhode Center.
Heartfelt thanks to Kinney Drugs and Assemblywoman Russell for their continued efforts in promoting literacy … and thanks to the community for their support of Addie’s Books for Children.
