Golfing for Community Action Raises Money for Kids

Sponsors, golfers and volunteers came together on August 14, 2015 in support of the 7th Annual Golfing for Community Action event.  Chris, Kylie and the fine staff at Watertown Golf Club made our group feel right at home on the links, served up a delicious buffet dinner … and kept the rain away.

After the tournament, the club house was a buzz, as we gathered for dinner and door prizes galore.  Top honors and cash prizes went to:

  • 1st place with a score of 57 – Neil Freeman, Kim Allen, Dave Belloff, Zach Augliano (pictured below)
  • 2nd place with a score of 62 – Kris Dumas, Del Leween, Shane Leween, Lynne Burke
  • 3rd place with a score of 63 – Anne Blake (our own Carthage Head Start Center Coordinator), Thomas Blake (Anne’s dad and all around good sport), Brian Spink and Dave Kryziak

Dave Belloff won a heated putting contest, taking home all the makings of a backyard barbecue party.  Luke Simmons and Samantha Robbins were recognized for longest drives, winning getaway prize packages.  Del Leween won closest to the pin and an outdoor dining set.

Thanks to the many sponsors, donors, golfers and volunteers who helped make Golfing for Community Action a huge success!  The event raised $8,000 in support of Community Action’s Back to School in Style initiative, providing children of low-income families with personal care items.
