Find child care now
| Summer Feeding |
 |
CAPC is a sponsor of the Summer Food Service Program. Free breakfasts, lunches, and snacks are served to children through eighteen years of age, at various sites throughout the county. New Summer Food sites and Volunteer Site-Supervisors are always welcomed. |
| Christmas Clearing House |
 |
Family Center staff and community volunteers collaborate with numerous organizations to provide nearly two thousand children in Jefferson County with presents each Christmas. First names of children in need of a gift are placed on the Angel Tree at the local mall, where shoppers are able to select a name and purchase a gift for the child of their choice. Gifts are then sorted and redistributed to participating organizations. Area volunteers staff the Angel Tree booth during mall business hours. Families in need of Christmas assistance may contact the Family Center for a list of application sites.
If you wish to make a special contribution of gifts, time, or money to this worthwhile cause, please contact us at extension 271. |
Army Child Care In your Neighborhood
In 2005, JLCP became a pilot program for Army Child Care in Your Neighborhood (ACCYN), through NACCRRA. The goal of this program is to increase the quality of child care in the
communities surrounding Fort Drum that mirrors what is offered on the installation. As a result, several Family and Group Family Childcare Providers have achieved their Child Development Associate Credential or NAFCC Accreditation. Our community now has two NAEYC Accredited Centers and one more in-process.
