A New Slant on Trick or Treating

Bethany First Methodist Church School class (ages 3 through 12) hosted a Trick or Treating for Food event on Friday, October 24.  Teacher Shirley Goutremont and eight children – all decked out in Halloween costumes – went door to door, collecting food in lieu of candy.  Their fine efforts resulted in $180 in non-perishable food items in support of the Community Action food pantry.

Enthusiastic about helping their community, this innovative group has already begun planning another holiday initiative entitled Christmas Sharing.

Community Action thanks these caring children, their parents and role models at Bethany First United Methodist Church and the generous neighbors who supported Trick or Treating for Food!
